About Cut Video
The preview and the selection happen entirely in your browser; only when you start is the video sent to our server, where FFmpeg does the cutting. Fast mode copies the streams without re-encoding: it is quick and lossless, but each part starts on the nearest keyframe before your start time. Accurate mode re-encodes the parts (H.264/AAC, or VP9/Opus for WEBM) so the cuts land on the exact frames, keeping the resolution and audio sync. The server checks every time against the real duration and verifies that each result is playable. Up to 20 parts; accurate cuts up to 10 minutes in total. Files are deleted after download, or automatically within about 15 minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Fast or Accurate: which should I use?
Fast when a cut a moment earlier is fine and you want speed and original quality. Accurate when the cut must land on an exact frame.
Why does my fast cut start a little early?
Without re-encoding, a video can only start on a keyframe, which may lie up to a few seconds before your chosen time.
Can I remove a section from the middle?
Yes: keep the part before and the part after it as two parts and choose Join into one video.
Why is WEBM not available in fast mode for my video?
WEBM only holds VP8/VP9 video with Opus or Vorbis audio. For other codecs choose MP4 or MKV, or use Accurate mode, which re-encodes to VP9.
