About OCR PDF

OCR (optical character recognition) runs on our server with the open-source Tesseract engine and supports English, Arabic, or both together. Each page is analysed at 300 DPI. For a searchable PDF, an invisible text layer is added on top of the original pages, so the scan itself is not changed or recompressed. Recognition quality depends on the scan: clear, straight, high-contrast pages work best. The result shows the average confidence reported by the engine and warns you when it is low, so always check important text. Up to 50 pages per document. Files are deleted after the result is delivered, or automatically within about 15 minutes.
