About Resize Images

Resizing is the most effective way to reduce file size for the web and to meet profile picture or form upload requirements. Set a target width or height and the other side follows automatically when the aspect ratio is locked, or scale by a percentage. Large reductions are done in several steps to keep edges smooth and avoid jagged artefacts. All images in a batch get the same settings. Processing happens in your browser, so your images are not uploaded. Enlarging an image cannot add detail that was not there.

Frequently asked questions

Will my image be distorted?

Not if “keep aspect ratio” is on. Turn it off only when you need exact dimensions regardless of shape.

Can I make images larger?

Yes, but enlarging cannot recover detail, so results may look soft.

Which format is the output?

The same format as the input, except formats the browser cannot write, which are saved as PNG.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing runs in your browser on your device.
