About Text Encryption
Text encryption is useful for sending a short secret, such as a note or an access code, through a channel you do not fully trust. The password is turned into a key with PBKDF2-SHA256 and a random salt, and the text is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The result is Base64 text that you can paste into an email or chat. To read it, the recipient needs the same password and this tool. Any change to the encrypted text is detected. Everything runs in your browser; this page sends no data and loads no ads or third-party scripts.
Frequently asked questions
How do I share the password safely?
Send it through a different channel than the encrypted text, for example by phone or in person.
Why is the result different each time?
A new random salt and nonce are used for every encryption. This is expected and makes the output harder to analyse.
Does it support Arabic and emoji?
Yes. Text is handled as UTF-8, so any language and emoji round-trip exactly.
What does “wrong password or modified” mean?
Either the password is different or the encrypted text was changed or incompletely copied. Both are rejected for security.
