Files encrypted with other programs use different formats and cannot be opened here.

Why does it say the password is wrong or the file was modified?

For security, a wrong passphrase and a changed file look the same. Check the passphrase, including capital letters, and make sure the file downloaded completely.

Can I decrypt files from other software?

No. Only files created with this site's Encrypt File tool are supported.

Will I get part of the file if it is damaged?

No. The original is only offered after the whole file has been verified.
